Dear Cal State LA Community,

On November 9, 2018 another senseless act of violence occurred within Thousand Oaks claiming the lives of 12 people. We would like to send our condolences to the victims and the families affected by this tragedy. We are also grateful for the law enforcement officers who risked and lost their lives during this tragic event. As a community, we must come together to denounce this type of violence and not succumb to the fear that comes with it.

The rise of mass shootings in this country is deeply concerning. Every community is at risk. We are constantly reminded that we must do more to stop tragedies like this from happening. Thoughts and prayers are simply not enough. We call upon policymakers and government officials to enact change!
