Richard Reyes

Richard Reyes, is a Cal State LA alumnus. He is the founder and Executive Director of the PLUS ME Project (Proof Learners Ultimately Succeed with Motivation and Education). Richard's unique narrative has inspired over 30,000 students in and around the L.A. area. He describes the various academic and social struggles he faced while attending public K-12 schooling in the Los Angeles Unified School District, bringing students into his world and taking them on an exhilarating journey.

As the first in his family to attend college, Richard's journey focuses on lessons he learned while attending North Hollywood HS, Glendale Community College, and Occidental College, where he earned his BA in Critical Theory/Social Justice in 2011. He concludes the narrative of his educational journey at California State University Los Angeles, where he completed his Master of Arts degree in Education.

Richard's is coming back to his alma mater to motivate students to take steps outside their comfort zones, encourage them to remain positive about their education, and remind them that they can accomplish their dreams.
