Dr. Marla Parker
Marla A. Parker, Ph.D. is an Associate Professor of Public Administration and political science at California State University-Los Angeles. She has over 20 years of success in the public and private sectors. Her broad areas of expertise include organizational wellness (including team member self-care), public management, social impact, entrepreneurship, innovation, learning and development, diversity and inclusion. In addition, she co-founded both the Civic and Social Innovation Group and the Los Angeles Economic Equity Accelerator and Fellowship at California State University-Los Angeles, both of which promote creative approaches to social impact and entrepreneurship. She earned her graduate degrees in public administration from the University of Illinois at Chicago with an emphasis in science, technology, engineering and math policy
Dr. Joanna Flores
Dr. Joanna Flores is a lecturer in the Political Science and the Chicana(o) and Latina(o) Studies Departments at California State University, Los Angeles.
Her research and teaching interests inspired by her family’s immigrant experiences are in education policy, Latino Undocumented Youth, the history and complex consequences of U.S Immigration Laws, and race and ethnicity. Her interdisciplinary scholarship draws from fields such as political science, education, sociology, and ethnic studies. In addition, Dr. Flores's pedagogy includes the integration of creative writing, music, and poetry, especially when introducing difficult concepts and topics.
Professor Mobolaji Olambiwonnu
Mobolaji is a storyteller/educator with Jamaican Christian and Nigerian Muslim parents. Growing up mediating multiple cultural identities has inspired him to use cinema as a tool to illuminate the superficial conditions that divide us and accentuate the merits of shedding our prejudices. He graduated cum laude from the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) and the American Film Institute (AFI). While at AFI he won the prestigious Directors Guild of America (DGA) Student Filmmaker Award for his MFA thesis “The Visit”. Since finishing AFI, Mobolaji has worked as a, director, camera operator, editor and adjunct faculty member at Cal State Los Angeles. His feature documentary, "Ferguson Rises," won an Audience Award at the TriBeca Film Festival and represented Independent Lens/PBS at the Television Critics Association. Noted film critic Kenneth Turan called "Ferguson Rises," "Excellent and Impressive." Mobolaji is a Gotham/HBO Fellow, a Film Independent Netflix/Amplifier Fellow, and a Pillars Artist Fellow. He is repped at United Talent Agency (UTA) where he is developing both narrative and documentary projects
Professor Lema Ramos
Leda Ramos is an artist and teaches Chicanx and Central American Art and Film in the Chicana(o) and Latina(o) Studies Department. Ramos is the founder/director of the Central American Memoria Histórica Archive Project at the University Library at Cal State LA. She creates social justice graphic design with design partner Eileen Herrera and various art and curatorial projects, including the CARECEN Central American Mural, Dolores Huerta Plaza in Boyle Heights, and the Izote Vos publication
