Organizational Items

Public Forum/Announcements: This time is allotted for members of the public to address the committee.

New Business

  • Beach Clean-Up: Committee members will be assigned a role for the event.
    • Docweiler Beach on March 1 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
  • Earth Day Celebration: Committee members will be assigned a role for the event.
    • Main campus walkway on April 22 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Assignment of Projects: Committee members will be assigned projects to work on throughout the semester.
  • Uniform Ideas: The committee will discuss purchasing cardigans and/or t-shirt to enhance branding and visibility.

Old Business

  • EPC Outreach and Recruitment: The committee will discuss spring tabling and outreach efforts.
    • Every Tuesday and Thursday, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., on the main campus walkway, adjacent to the Biological Science building
  • EPC Marketing Strategies: The committee will discuss efforts during the spring semester.

About Committee

The Environmental Policy Committee formulates and encourages the adoption of policies that will make ASI's internal practices more environmentally sustainable. In addition, the committee also seeks to:

  • Collaborate with Cal State LA administrators to encourage the adoption of policies that will make Cal State LA a more environmentally sustainable campus.
  • Educate the on-campus community on the topic of environmental sustainability and environmental justice.
  • Formulate and encourage the adoption of policies that will make the California State University system more environmentally sustainable, working primarily through the California State Student Association (CSSA).

The Environmental Policy Committee is composed of:

  • Civic Engagement Officer (Chair)
  • Two members of the ASI Board of Directors
  • Two members at-large from the student body
  • ASI Executive Director or designee (non-voting)
