II. Public Comment: This time is allotted for the public to address the committee regarding items not included on the meeting agenda.

III. Action Items

  1. Policy 019: The committee will take action on edits made to the ASI Sustainability Guidelines.

IV. Discussion Items

  1. Habitat-Restoration at Debs Park: The committee will briefly discuss the program proposal and timeline of the event.
  2. Sustainability Map Project: The committee will discuss a project that would bring forth an interactive map of all related sustainable items on campus (i.e. water refill stations and recycling receptacles).
  3. Plant Blindness Project: The committee will discuss a project that would bring forth
  4. Earth Week: The committee will discuss plans for Earth Week.
  5. Group Discussion: The Committee will address any items put forth by the members.

About Committee

The Environmental Policy Committee formulates and encourages the adoption of policies that will make ASI's internal practices more environmentally sustainable. In addition, the committee also seeks to:

  • Collaborate with Cal State LA administrators to encourage the adoption of policies that will make Cal State LA a more environmentally sustainable campus.
  • Educate the on-campus community on the topic of environmental sustainability and environmental justice.
  • Formulate and encourage the adoption of policies that will make the California State University system more environmentally sustainable, working primarily through the California State Student Association (CSSA).

The Environmental Policy Committee is composed of:

  • Civic Engagement Officer (Chair)
  • Two members of the ASI Board of Directors
  • Two members at-large from the student body
  • ASI Executive Director or designee (non-voting)
