II. Public Forum - This time is allotted for members of the public to make announcements and/ or address the Committee.

III. New Business

a. Rock the Vote: The committee will talk about the importance of informing our students about voting for the upcoming elections.

b. State Lobby Corp: The committee will talk about the events that the state lobby corp officer is planning.

c. Voting Center Opening: The committee will talk about seeking students volunteers to guide students to the voting center.

d. CHESS 2020: The committee will talk about CHESS and talk about ways we can prepare our students.

e. Spring 2020 Events: The committee plan three events to execute for the renaming rest of the semester.

f. Proposed Bills: The committee will talk about proposed bills that CSSA present at the February Plenary.

About Committee

This committee reviews, researches, and makes recommendations on legislation at the local and State level, through CSSA. Additionally, this body creates an annual advocacy agenda and recommends action to the BOD.

The Legislative Affairs and Advocacy Committee membership consists of the following:

  • ASI Vice President of External Affairs (Chair)
  • ASI President
  • Civic Engagement Officer
  • Diversity and Inclusion Officer
  • Vice President for University Affairs
  • Two ASI Board of Directors members
  • Three students at-large from the student body
  • ASI Executive Director or designee (non-voting)
