The CSU Student Trustee is appointed by the Governor and serves as your voice on the Board. The CSU Board of Trustees adopts policies governing the CSU system and has authority over educational policy, finance, and campus planning. This is your opportunity to engage with your representative. Attend the Coffee Talk to meet, mingle, ask questions or raise concerns.
Jorge Reyes Salinas
Jorge Reyes Salinas is pursuing his Master's degree in Communication Studies from California State University, Northridge. Mr. Reyes Salinas received his Bachelor's degree in Journalism in May 2015, as well as a minor in Spanish Language Journalism and Recreation Management. Reyes Salinas served in Associated Students at CSUN since 2011, and ended his tenure as president of the Associated Students in May 2016. He has also been involved in many CSUN organizations such as Greek life, new student orientation, the University Student Union and more. Reyes Salinas also served as vice president of university affairs for the California State Student Association (CSSA) from 2016 - 2017. In this role, Reyes Salinas oversaw University Affairs topics and issues that relate to all CSU campuses. In June 2016, he was appointed to the California State University Board of Trustees by Governor Brown where he represents over 476,000 students of the CSU as the voting student trustee. Reyes Salinas has a passion for education equity and has served in many committees addressing issues of social justice and graduation rates for underrepresented students. Upon graduation from CSUN, Reyes Salinas hopes to continue his work in higher education through public service or student affairs.
