2018 ASI General Election -
ELECTIONS COMMISSIONER REPORT FOR THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING
Voting for Elections took place over two days: Tuesday, April 24, through Wednesday, April 25.
- 1,175 students voted electronically via the Golden Eagle Territory (GET) system and through the GET Mobile App.
- The election was closed at 7:00pm on Wednesday night. General Election Ballots result reporting took place at 10:00am on Thursday, April 26.
- All results are valid. No concerns regarding the voting process were shared with the Elections Committee.
- No grievances were submitted
2018 ASI GENERAL ELECTION RESULTS
Now, the results of the 2018 ASI General Elections.
I will read the position, followed by the breakdown of votes based on the Elections Ballot, and then announce the newly elected candidates.
College of Arts and Letters Representatives:
There was one candidates for this position. 128 votes were cast for the Arts & Letters Representative position.
- Alisyn Green received 120 votes.
- 8 people voted No Confidence
Alisyn Green is the new Representatives for the College of Arts & Letters.
College of Business & Economics Representatives:
There were two candidates for this position. 154 votes were cast for the College of Business & Economics Representatives positions.
- Christopher Koo received 96 votes.
- Jose Abarca received 84 votes.
Christopher Koo and Jose Abarca are the new Representatives for the College of Business & Economics.
College of Natural and Social Sciences Representatives:
There were two candidates for this position. 252 votes were cast for the Natural and Social Sciences Representative position.
- Davona Watson received 128 votes.
- Janielle Cuala received 159 votes.
Davona Watson and Janielle Cuala are the new Representatives for the College of Natural and Social Sciences.
College of Engineering, Computer Science, & Technology Representative:
There was one candidate for this position. 131 votes were cast for the College of Engineering, Computer Science, & Technology Representative position.
- Jeremiah Rodriguez received 124 votes.
- 7 people voted No Confidence
Jeremiah Rodriguez is the new Representative for the College of Engineering, Computer Science, & Technology.
Undergraduate Academic Senator:
There was one candidate for this position. 1,033 votes were cast for Undergraduate Academic Senator.
- Jay Doshi received 963 votes.
- 70 people voted No Confidence
Jay Doshi is the new Undergraduate Academic Senator.

There was one candidate for this position. 1025 votes were cast for the Secretary/Treasurer position.
- Jennifer Martell received 977 votes

Vice President for External Affairs and Advancement:
There was one candidate for this position. 1054 votes were cast for the Vice President for External Affairs and Advancement position.
- Veronica Garcia-Martinez received 1000 votes.
- 54 people voted No Confidence.

Vice President for Finance:
There was one candidate for this position. 1058 votes were cast for the Vice President for Finance position.
- Aaron Castaneda received 980 votes.
- 78 people voted No Confidence.

Vice President for Academic Governance:
There was two candidates for this position. 1,071 votes were cast for Vice President for Academic Governance.
- Jacquelyn Acosta received 788 votes.

Vice President for Administration:
There were two candidates for the Vice President for Administration position. 1,095 votes were cast for the Vice President for Administration position.

There were two candidates running for ASI President. 1,141 votes were cast for the President position.
- Medrik Minassian received 300 votes.
- Nia Johnson received 841 votes.
Nia Johnson is the new ASI President.
