Walkout at 20

Cal State LA community,
Join us for a free special screening of Walkout (2006), directed by Edward James Olmos, as we celebrate 20 years since the film’s release.

Based on the true story of the 1968 East Los Angeles student walkouts, Walkout follows Chicana/o students who organized and used their collective voices to challenge inequality within their schools and advocate for change.

The event begins with a panel discussion exploring the history, legacy, and continued importance of student activism and advocacy, followed by the film screening.
