ASI Student Government Election Results

2020-2021


  • Voting for ASI’s Student Government took place during the joint Student Leader Election over two days starting on Tuesday, May 5th through Wednesday, May 6th, 2020.
  • 935 students cast valid ballots electronically via the Golden Eagle Territory (GET) system.
  • The election was closed at 7 pm on Wednesday, May 6th, 2020.
  • All results are valid without any pending grievances.

College of Arts and Letters Representatives:

  • There were three candidates for this position.
  • 98 votes were cast for the Arts and Letters Representatives position.
  • Brajohn Hicks received 46 votes.
  • Kareem Zeenni received 15 votes.
  • Lauren Diana received 57 votes.
Lauren Diana and Brajohn Hicks are the new College of Arts and Letters Representatives.

College of Business and Economics Representatives:

  • There were two candidates for these positions.
  • 80 votes were cast for the College of Business and Economics Representative position.
  • Johannakate Connally received 49 votes.
  • Jonathan Villagra Sillva received 62 votes.
Johannakate Connally and Jonathan Villagra Sillva are the new College of Business and Economics Representatives.

College of Engineering, Computer Science and Technology Representative:

  • There was one candidate for this position.
  • 77 votes were cast for the College of Engineering, Computer Science and Technology Representative position.
  • Kyle Misa received 75 votes. 2 people voted No Confidence.
Kyle Misa is the new College of Engineering, Computer Science and Technology Representative.

College of Natural and Social Sciences Representatives:

  • There were four candidates for these positions.
  • 151 votes were cast for the Natural and Social Sciences Representative position.
  • Brian Nguyen received 49 votes.
  • Emily Sandoval received 61 votes.
  • Kristy Lam received 58 votes.
  • Laura Pineda received 53 votes.
Emily Sandoval and Kristy Lam are the new Representatives for the College of Natural and Social Sciences.

Rongxiang Xu College of Health and Human Services Representatives:

  • There were four candidates for these positions.
  • 171 votes were cast for the Rongxiang Xu College of Health and Human Services Representative positions.
  • Jazmin Ennis received 67 votes.
  • Mehek Desai received 55 votes.
  • Mitzi Angulo received 55 votes.
  • Rochelle Andrea Cordero received 70 votes.
Rochelle Andrea Cordero and Jazmin Ennis are the new Rongxiang Xu College of Health and Human Services Representatives.

Undergraduate Academic Senator:

  • There were three candidates for these positions.
  • 529 votes were cast for Undergraduate Academic Senator.
  • Jeovana Lopez received 373 votes.
  • Kinsley Wang received 217 votes.
  • Kyle Taing received 240 votes.
Jeovana Lopez, Kyle Taing, and Kinsley Wang are the new Undergraduate Academic Senators.

Secretary/Treasurer:

  • There was one candidate for this position.
  • 617 votes were cast for the Secretary/Treasurer position.
  • Anna Nguyen received 582 votes.
  • 35 people voted No Confidence.
Anna Nguyen is the new Secretary/Treasurer.

Vice President for Finance:

  • There was one candidate for this position.
  • 636 votes were cast for the Vice President for Finance position.
  • Kayla Misa received 611 votes. 25 people voted No Confidence.
Kayla Misa is the new Vice President for Finance.

Vice President for Academic Governance:

  • There was one candidate for this position.
  • 643 votes were cast for Vice President for Academic Governance.
  • Gabriel Avila received 593 votes. 50 people voted No Confidence.
Gabriel Avila is the new Vice President for Academic Governance.

Vice President for Administration:

  • There were three candidates for this position.
  • 688 votes were cast for Vice President for Administration.
  • Ma Ledi Ham Loot received 293 votes.
  • Merridith Chou received 212 votes.
  • Sathya Raminani received 183 votes.
Ma Ledi Ham Loot is the new Vice President for Administration.

President:

  • There were two candidates running for ASI President.
  • 737 votes were cast for the President position.
  • Diana Chavez received 486 votes.
  • Jorge Salazar Martinez received 251 votes.
Diana Chavez is the new ASI President.
