Cal State LA clubs/orgs, Greeks, and campus departments may choose a theme that incorporates Spirit Week, Homecoming, or what you think best represents your group affiliation. Banners will be hung in the Eagles Nest (Main Gym) during the homecoming basketball games on February 2.

Spirit Week Involvement Packet
  • The banner cannot exceed 3' x 7' in size.
  • The banner must be the original work of the club/organization/department.
  • All materials on the banner must be securely attached. Any loose pieces of the banner will not be considered by the Banner Contest Judging Committee.
  • You MAY NOT incorporate any type of profanity, obscenities, or items of offensive nature on the banner.

ALL banners are required to incorporate:

  • Cal State LA or California State University, Los Angeles
  • Your club/organization, Greek letters, or department name
  • Homecoming 2016

Banners will be judged on:

  • Originality
  • Creativity
  • Overall Appearance

Deadline to turn in the banner is after the Homecoming Tailgate on Tuesday, February 2. It will be collected post-event and hung in the gym.

Cash Prizes are:

  • First Place: $100
  • Second Place: $75
  • Third Place: $50
