About Committee

The Student Basic Needs Taskforce includes the Office of the Dean of Students, The University-Student Union, The Center for Student, Financial Aid, Educational Opportunity Program, the Center for Engagement, Service, and the Public Good, Student Health Center, Associated Students, Inc., Center for Student Involvement, Housing and Residence Life, UAS-Food Services, and the Academic Senate.

Key Objectives of the Taskforce

Food and Housing can have a profound impact on the health and well-being of our students, which in turn impacts their academic success. This taskforce provides a platform for the various campus partners to share best practices, knowledge, and innovative ideas to support displaced and food insecure students. The taskforce will help build and strengthen communication between the campus partners. The taskforce will help engage students in the development of programs, services, and policy development to combat displacement and food insecurity on campus.

  1. Number of openings – 1 ASI Student Representative.
  2. Student Rep Role – The student rep will be equivalent to other members on this taskforce.
  3. When are the committee meetings – The committee meets as needed, but will be meeting once per month (dates/times are TBD)
