Action Item
- The council will elect the Vice Chair of the Shared Governance Council.
Information Items
- The council will receive an overview of the purpose of the Shared Governance Council, examine existing university committee/work group structures, and learn how to be an effective committee member from the VP for Academic Governance.
- The committee will review Policy 023 - Shared Governance Council Code of Procedure.
Discussion Items
- The council will review and discuss Committee Reports and the purpose they serve.
- "The Class Syllabus - Division of Student Life" - Senator Chavez will lead a discussion on the idea of implementing a section on the class syllabus regarding student resources and rights.

About Committee
The purpose and function of the Shared Governance Council (SGC) of the Associated Students, Inc. (ASI) is to:
- Review, research, and make recommendations on, but not limited to, Academic and Administrative policy affecting students.
- Maintain active communication to the student body regarding Academic and Administrative Affairs by creating resolutions, white papers, utilizing media outlets, etc.
- Work with all appropriate areas in order to ensure that genuine Shared Governance is being upheld between students, faculty, and administration.
- Create annual assessments of student needs and concerns.
Shared Governance Council membership includes:
- Vice President for University Affairs (Chair)
- ASI Academic Senators (2 Undergraduates, 2 Graduates, 1 At-large)
- All student Representatives appointed to University and Academic Senate Committees and Subcommittees
- All ASI Board members that are appointed to serve on a University or Academic Senate Committee or Subcommittee
- Faculty Appointee
- AVP/Dean of Students or designee (non-voting)
- ASI Executive Director or designee (non-voting)
